EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette senior captain Megan Monahan collected her first Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award of the year it was announced by the league office on Monday.
The senior forward tallied five goals and five assists while leading the Leopards to a 3-0 week against Monmouth, Stanford and Cornell.
Monahan sparked the Leopards' offense with two goals and one assist in Lafayette's 8-1 win over Monmouth on Sept. 10.
The reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year then registered the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over Stanford on Sept. 14.
Sunday, Monahan had a hand in all four Lafayette goals, with two scores and two assists, in a 4-3 overtime victory at Cornell.
The Leopards' improved to 4-2, and are riding a four game winning streak going into Wednesday's game against Pennsylvania at Rappolt Field. Opening face off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
