EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette forward Megan Monahan picked up this season right where she left off in 2001. The reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year collected the ECAC's Player of the Week award on Tuesday.
The award is Monahan's second of the week, as the senior took home Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.
Monahan led the Leopards to a 3-0 record last week against Monmouth, Stanford and Cornell.
Monahan sparked the Leopards' offense with two goals and one assist in Lafayette's 8-1 win over Monmouth on Sept. 10.
She then registered the game-winner in a 4-3 win over Stanford and had a hand in all four goals, with two scores and two assists, in a 4-3 win at Cornell.
In all, Monahan found the back of the cage five times and assisted on five other scores.
Monahan's 19 points rank her third amongst Division I scoring leaders.
The Leopards are riding a four-game winning streak going into Wednesday's game against Pennsylvania at Rappolt Field. Opening face off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
