EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette field hockey is riding a six-game winning streak, and the Patriot League rewarded Erica Bartsch (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) and Meredith Hahn (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) for their contributions on Monday.
Hahn won the Offensive Player of the Week award after netting two goals and two assists in two Lafayette wins, becoming the second Leopard to win the award in as many weeks.
Senior forward Megan Monahan (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) took home Offensive Player of the Week honors last week.
Hahn, a speedy forward on the Patriot League's most prolific offense, netted two goals and added an assist in Lafayette's 4-2 win over Pennsylvania on Wednesday, and assisted on Monahan's overtime goal in the Leopards' 1-0 victory over American on Sunday.
Bartsch took home Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading a stingy Leopards' defense. The senior co-captain shadowed American's leading scorer Magdalena Aguilar, holding her to one shot, while tallying seven tackles and two interceptions on the day.
Bartsch commanded the midfield in the Leopards' victory over Penn, adding five tackles and two more picks.
Lafayette stands at 6-2, and travels to Philadelphia for a 7 p.m. showdown with Atlantic-10 foe St. Joseph's on Wednesday.
