GREENSBORO, N.C. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore Ashley Harbin's 189' 5 1/2" hammer throw was good for sixth at the NCAA East Regional meet, highlighting Lafayette's outing at the event on Saturday on the campus of North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.

Harbin's sixth-place performance was Lafayette's top showing at the 2006 event as well as the College's best ever individual finish. Harbin awaits the results of regionals across the country to determine if she earned the right to compete at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif.

Classmate and 2006 Patriot League triple jump champion Emily Cholak finished with a 36' 2 3/4" mark, while junior and league champion in the shot put, Tyler Jones, took 21st with a 48' 10 3/4" heave.

The NCAA Track & Field Championships are set to begin on June 7.
