West Chester, Pa. - Lafayette came back after dropping three games and took down West Chester, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon. Three Leopards scored and the goalkeeper had nine saves and registered her sixth shut-out of the season.
Off a penalty corner, defender Carolyn Cabrey was able to find freshman Deanna DiCroce for the goal in the 20th minute. The goal was DiCroce's eighth goal of the season and is leading the Leopards in goals. Off another penalty corner, forward Kelly Hilovsky found the back of the board in the 23rd minute assisted by Cara Lyons. Lafayette would head into the half up 2-0 against West Chester.
The final goal came in the middle of the second half when senior Alison Schoch made it 3-0 in the when she beat West Chester goalkeeper Joelle Zarefoss, who came out of the cage to make a play on the ball. Schoch maneuvered around Zarefoss and flicked the shot into the open cage.
The game was evenly played with West Chester out-shooting Lafayette 15-14, while the Leopards had an edge in penalty corners, 10-9, and in saves 9-7.
