Hamilton, N.Y. - The Leopards got all they would need in the 23rd minute of the opening half against Colgate as Kelly Hilovsky scored off a rebound from the initial shot by junior Meghan Cicchi. Lafayette added to its lead with two more goals in the second half as Deanna DiCroce scored her 12th goal of the season and Hilovsky scored her second goal of the game.
In the 22nd minute, junior Meghan Cicchi went to the cage off a corner but the Raiders goalkeeper Sarah Pedersen was able to stop the shot. The ball rebounded back into play where Hilovsky was able to connect and find the back of the cage.
Lafayette finished the half up 1-0 on nine shots and three penalty corners compared to Colgate's two shots and four penalty corners.
DiCroce scored the second goal for the Leopards one minute into the second half. The Leopards shot eight more times before Hilovsky scored the third and final goal for Lafayette to secure the victory and the team's spot in the Patriot League Tournament. Freshman goalkeeper Mara Kish made her first colligate appearance and had the lone save for the Leopards at the end of the half.
Lafayette finished the game with a total of 23 shots, nine penalty corners and the one save made by Kish. Colgate finished with four shots, six penalty corners and eight saves.
Today's game concluded the regular season play for Lafayette. Tomorrow afternoon the Leopards will find out where they stand in the league, where their first post-season game will take place and who they will face.
