EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette cross country team competed in the Lehigh-Lafayette Dual Meet on Friday night at Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks won both races, 15-50 on the men's side and 20-39 in the women's race. Zach Lizmi and Rose Wiley were the first Leopards to cross the line finishing ninth and third, respectively.
Lizmi clocked in at 26:59.2, followed by Josh Sadlock in 13th place (27.20.2) and William Volkman in 16th (27:27.4). Dayne Mosconi completed the race in 27:55.2, good for 19th overall, right ahead of Sam Brinton at 28:09.2. Derrick Hargwood earned a 23rd place finish, running in 28:21.8.
Lehigh's Sam Bernitt was the overall winner, finishing with a time of 26:30.3.
Wiley's third place mark was timed at 22:55.5, just ahead of Sarah Welsh-Huggins who crossed the line sixth overall in 23:07.0. Less than a second behind Welsh-Huggins was Lauren Kelly, the third Leopard to finish in the top-10.
Senior Erika Stasakova was the 16th place finisher for Lafayette, running in 23:50.2. In 20th place was classmate Erin Mee at 24:27.8. Simran Brains, Hallie Farber and Grace Watters all ranked in the top-25.
Katherine Pierce was the top racer on the women's side, registering a time of 21:54.6.
The Leopards return to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem on September 30.
