BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a 7-0 performance at Holy Cross on Oct. 20, Lafayette's offense picked up right where it left off, scoring a season-high eight goals in an 8-0 rout of Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Deutsch and senior goalkeeper Mara Kish combined for the shutout, each playing a half in the victory.

Senior co-captain Deanna DiCroce recorded a hat trick, scoring three goals on the afternoon, while sophomore Jenna Seybert had a hat trick of her own in assists, notching three off corners. Junior Haley Keenan added two goals and two assists for Lafayette as well.

"We had another really solid team performance," head coach Andrew Griffiths said. "We put some distance between the teams early and took care of business in the first half, which was one of our goals. We had a couple of patches where we got away from moving the ball quickly, but I think overall we looked really sharp and dangerous in our passing and we're just trying to keep the momentum going."

Lafayette jumped all over the Mountain Hawks early, as junior Kristin Heaney drove in from right of the goal and fed it across the front of the cage to DiCroce , who slotted it past Lehigh goalkeeper Sydney Maltinsky to give the Leopards the 1-0 lead less than a minute into the contest.

Just over 10 minutes later, a defensive save from Lehigh's Carly Smith did not hinder the Lafayette attack as they attacked the Mountain Hawks defense in waves. DiCroce took the ball through a seam in the middle and found a wide open Kelsey Gula to extend the lead to 2-0.

Keenan deflected two shots and senior Maria Machalick tipped one from Seybert off corners in the latter half of the first to push the Leopard lead to 5-0 at halftime.

To open the second, Keenan found DiCroce in front of the cage off a scramble after a corner opportunity to extend the Leopards' insurance to six.

Senior co-captain Emily Valeo converted on a penalty stroke in the 55th minute and DiCroce knocked in a Keenan feed a minute later, making the final score, 8-0.

The Maroon and White return to Rappolt Field for Senior Day tomorrow as they take on Georgetown at noon.
