Philadelphia - Lafayette took down Penn in a non-league game Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia. The Leopards came out flying tallying their first goal just 20 seconds into the opening frame. Lafayette went on to win, 4-0, and improved to 4-6.

Kristin Heaney put the Leopards on the scoreboard in the first minute of the game. Haley Keenan took the ball into the circle from the left and found Heaney in front, giving Lafayette the lead early in the contest.

The Leopards struck again in the 20^th minute, as Heaney carried into the circle and fired past the Penn goalkeeper into the net. The Quakers threatened in the 28^th minute with a penalty corner, but Lafayette goalkeeper Jessica Deutsch was there to turn away the danger.

In the first five minutes of the second half, the Leopards applied pressure resulting in three penalty corners. In the 41^st minute, Keenan finally broke through and scored her third goal of the season to give the Leopards a 3-0 advantage. After a shot from Kelsey Mead was saved, Kelsey Gula collected the rebound and calmly played it to Keenan for the easy tap in.

Jenna Seybert added a fourth goal for the Leopards in the 67^th minute off a penalty corner. The junior fired a shot into the Penn net assisted by Kirby Szalkowski and Ami Turner. The Maroon and White controlled play throughout the second half, allowing just two shots and two corners in the final minutes of the game.

The Leopards outshot Penn, 18-11, with a 15-7 advantage in shots on goal. Lafayette also held an 11-9 edge in penalty corners. Deutsch improved to 4-6, making seven saves in the win, while Penn's Carly Sokach made 11 saves in the loss.

Lafayette will host Bucknell on Saturday at noon in its second Patriot League game of the season.
