BOSTON -
Eight members of the Lafayette track & field team returned to action at the ECAC and IC4A, where they posted three new school records to highlight the eventful weekend at the Boston Track and Tennis Center.

"We had a great ending to the indoor season," head coach Michele Curcio said. "It is always tough to come back after the Patriot League Championships and this group responded well. Three school records, two All-East honors and two more season-bests allows us to close out the indoor season on a high note and helps us kick start the outdoor season."

Dave McGriff was the lone male student-athlete competing for the Leopards this weekend and he placed 17th in the weight throw with a distance of 52' 2.5". The junior also competed in the shot put, where his throw of 52' .5" earned him a 13th-place finish in a field of 24 total throwers and was a season-best.

When it came time for the women to spring into action, Drew Davis, who two weeks ago claimed the top spot in the 400m at the Patriot League Championships, got things started in the 500m with a new school record after crossing at 1:14.26. Her time was also a personal best and she came just a tenth of a second short of making the finals after finishing in 11th place.

Emily Moore was next up for the Leopards and after setting a personal best in the Patriot League Championships earlier this month, she kicked it up a notch and once again bested her previous top time. At 16:54.23, Moore claimed the eighth spot in a field of 21 runners and earned a point for the Leopards, while also setting a new school record and receiving All-East honors.

Falling less than a second of short of capturing a school record at the league championships, the group of Caroline Harmon, Alexa Kwapinski, Crosby Spiess and Kelly Reager returned to the track looking to rewrite history and did just that as they finished with a time of 9:05.04 in the 4x800m relay. The new Lafayette record earned them a sixth-place finish and All-East honors, while also advancing them to the finals, which took place on Sunday. The following day, the group earned a point after crossing at 9:34.32.

The Leopards closed out the weekend in the distance medley, where Kwapinski, Tessa Broholm, Reager and Harmon placed 14th with their time of 11:59.36, which was a season-best and the second fastest time in school history.

As the weather gets warmer, the Leopards will now shift their focus to the outdoor season, which opens up at the Metzgar Fields with a 7-Way Meet slated for Mar. 25 at 11 a.m.
