PRINCETON, N.J. - Five members of the Lafayette track and field team earned All-East honors at the ECAC/IC4A Championships held at William Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University this weekend.
Junior thrower Dave McGriff and the women's 4x800m relay team of Caroline Harmon, Alexa Kwapinski, Crosby Spiess and Kelly Reager all received All-East accolades.
McGriff got things started for the Maroon and White in the hammer throw on the second day of competition. The Flemington, N.J. native placed fifth out of 22 total throwers with a distance of 181' 5". Teammate Patrick Corcoran also competed in the event, placing 17th with his throw of 159' 3".
All 10 Leopards at the meet were in action on the final day of competition and it began with the men's 4x100m relay team of Steven Young, Jake Hubertus, Tom Strand and Justin Johnson finishing 13th after crossing at 43:05.
Later in the day, McGriff (47' 3") and Corcoran (46' 4") placed 21st and 22nd, respectively in the shot put. McGriff rounded out the action for the field events with a second-place finish in the discus with a throw of 174' 6".
The women's 4x800m relay team then capped off the three-day weekend of competition with a sixth-place showing after crossing at 9:06.43.
