GLADSTONE, N.J. - Lafayette was able to capture three of five contested singles points in the afternoon, but it was not enough to defend their President's Cup title in a 5-4 setback to Lehigh at Hamilton Farms Golf Club.
The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the morning better ball and alternate shot portions of the Ryder Cup-style event. The Leopards
Ryan Tall (3 and 2 over Ryan Kelly) and
Brendan Cronin (2 and 1 over Owen Quinn) each notched full points with singles victories but the team could not fully erase the early deficit.
The Mountain Hawks reclaim the cup after losing to the Leopards in 2017 to knot the all-time series at 4-4. The next action for Lafayette is the Lehigh Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Saucon Valley Country Club.
