Tall, Berger Highlight Men’s Golf at Carpetbagger

Two Leopards tie for 18th; Lafayette finishes 7th

URBANA, Md. — Junior Ryan Tall and senior Cole Berger both finished tied for 18th place to lead the Lafayette men's golf team at The Carpetbagger on Sunday at Worthington Manor Golf Club's par-72 course.

Tall fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish with a two-day 8-over-par 152. The Devon, Pa. native was one of five golfers in the tournament who shot even par or better in the final round.
As for Berger, he shot a 1-over 73 to bounce back from a 7-over 79 from Saturday's first round. The Malvern, Pa. native moved up 13 spots during the final round.

Tall and Berger, along with senior Brendan Cronin, junior Kazuki Ozawa, and junior Drew Steiner, helped the Leopards finish seventh as a team with a total score of 33-over-par 609.

Cronin and Ozawa both finished in a tie for 22nd after totaling a 9-over-par 153 in the tournament. Cronin also shot a 73 for the Maroon and White, while Ozawa posted a 4-over 76 in the last round.

Steiner rounded out the lineup with a 6-over 78 to finish in a tie for 41st. 

The Leopards will hit the links next Saturday and Sunday when they play in the Battle at Rum Pointe at Rum Pointe Golf Club in Ocean City, Md.
