LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team continued their season Friday at the Bucknell Tune Up.
On the men's side,
Jordan Anderson once again had a monster meet, winning the long jump with a top mark of 23' 3
1/2". He came back later in the meet to finish second in the 60 meter dash in a time of 6.93 seconds.
Quinn Curtin also had a strong performance in the jumping department, finishing second in the triple jump with a mark of 43 0
1/4".
In the high jump,
Isaiah Moore also had a strong showing, finishing tied for fourth with a mark of 6'
1/2".
Jack Lynett also had a solid day for the Leopards, finishing third in the pole vault with a top mark of 14' 3
1/4".
Moving into the track events,
Oscar Jopp got the action started, finishing sixth in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.83 seconds.
In the one mile run,
Sean Hamilton had a strong race, finishing third in a time of 4:27.01.
The 3,000 meter run produced some good finishes on the day, as the Leopards finished second and fifth in the race. Leading the way was
Sam Fowler (2nd, 9:01.65), and behind him was
Alex Gent (5th, 9:05.67).
On the women's side, the weight throw was a strong showing for Lafayette, finishing second and forth in the event. Leading the ways was
Grace O'Mara (2nd, 50' 5
1/4") and
Solape Fakorede (4th, 47' 5"). O'Mara also came back later to finish fifth in the shot put with a toss of 41' 3
1/4".
Cassandra Wilk had a big performance for Lafayette, winning the 1,000 meter run in a time of 3:00.84.
In the 60 meter hurdle finals,
Angel Awono finished eighth overall in a time of 9.51 seconds.
Portia McKoy also got in on the action, finishing fifth in the 60 meter dash in a time of 8.16 seconds.
In the one mile run,
Julia Eustace finished eighth overall in a time of 5:33.48.
The 500 meter run also produced good finishes, as Lafayette took third and fourth. Leading the way was
Nava Chevan (3rd, 1:19.36) and
Kirsten McKenna (4th, 1:21.95).Â
The 800 meter run was another successful event, as Lafayette finished with four top 10 finishes. Leading the way was
Casey MacElhiney (5th, 2:24.10),
Alexandra Borik (7th, 2:25.39),
Lily Dineen (8th, 2:26.61) and
Sara Tippin (9th, 2:27.22).
