HAMPDEN, Mass. - Lafayette finished 13th in the UConn Invitational at Greathorse Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday. Junior
Quint Dingledine led the way for the Leopards, placing t-28 on the par-72 course.
Dingledine carded a 72 in round one followed by a 75 and 78 in rounds two and three, totaling 225 for the tournament.Â
Fellow juniors Sean Saw and Michael Bell finished 60th and t-62, respectively. Saw ended with 235 for the weekend (81-79-75), while Bell scored 237 (78-76-83). Senior Carter Ablon placed tied for 66th, carding scores of 80, 78 and 81 in the three rounds, and sophomore Harry Dessel scored 72, 86, and 85 for a t-73 finish.
Sophomore Valdemar Kofod-Olsen ended 75th, shooting a 245 (82-84-79). Rounding out the tournament for the Leopards were freshmen Winston Kelenc-Blank and Eli Myers, Kelenc-Blank finished 76th (80-87-79) and Myers 78th (87-84-77).
Host UConn placed first as a team and individually, sophomore Connor Goode snagged the win, finishing one-under-par.
The Maroon and White continue their season on Oct. 7 at the Carolina Cup hosted by USC-Upstate.
