BOSTON, Mass. – The Leopards wrapped up the Patriot League Championships on Sunday at Boston University. The women's team finished seventh and the men ninth.
For the men, sophomore Liam Sawian scored a total of 4,527 points in the heptathlon, consisting of seven events, 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meters. Sawian secured eighth place and No. 6 all-time at Lafayette.
The men's distance medley relay team of sophomores Quinn Worrell, John Paul Pfisterer and Titan Casey and junior A.J. Sanford placed fourth with a final time of 9:54.72, securing a top-10 performance and a school record.
For the women, the distance medley relay team of junior Chelsey Cochrane, sophomore Katherine Pappas and seniors Lily Dineen and Emma Lorey managed seventh place with a time of 12:13.02, obtaining No. 8 all-time.
The team of sophomores Maeve Waldron, Alexa LaSasso and Elena Malone and junior Nava Chevan garnered a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, running a 3:51.60, and reaching No. 4 all-time.
Qualifying athletes from day one, freshman Ida Moczerniuk and Chevan placed seventh and eighth in the 60-meter dash (7.83) and 400 meters (57.13), respectively.
The Maroon and White will be back in action at the West Point Invitational on Mar. 15 to kick off the outdoor track and field season.
