PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Leopards competed in the Widener Indoor Classic at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday.
Running for the women, sophomore Ida Moczerniuk qualified for finals in the 60-meter dash, capturing a first-place finish with a final time of 7.61. Moczerniuk also took home second in the 200 meters with a time of 24.84.
Senior Nava Chevan garnered second in the 400 meters with a time of 56.36, staying at No. 3 all-time at Lafayette. Junior Maeve Waldron reeled in third in the 200 meters with a time of 25.13, securing No. 3 all-time, and sophomore Gabby Buber took home fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.38 in the 200 meters, collecting No. 5 all-time. Buber also placed eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.97, tying for No. 10 all-time.
Senior Angel Awono qualified for finals in the 60-meter hurdles, ultimately finishing fourth (9.13). Junior Elizabeth Borah snagged third in the 5000 meters (17:58.84) while senior Chelsey Cochrane secured third in the mile (5:03.58), earning No. 6 all-time. Junior Kira Marr placed fourth in the 3000 meters, finishing in 10:25.77.
The team of Waldron, Chevan, and juniors LaSasso and Malone secured No. 5 all-time with a 3:51.81 finish and second place in the 4x400-meter relay.
In the field events, senior Julia Greeley enjoyed a victory in the pole vault with a 12' 5.5" effort.
For the men, junior Titan Casey left victorious in the 800 meters with a final time of 1:53.10, achieving No. 6 all-time. Classmate Quinn Worrell followed close behind in second with a time of 1:53.23, securing No. 7 all-time. Sophomore John Liedtka qualified for finals in the 60-meter hurdles and ended in fifth (8.37).
In the field events, junior Benjamin Hill collected fourth in the pole vault, vaulting 15' 5".
The Maroon and White will finish up the regular season on Feb. 21 at the Bucknell Tuneup at 4:30 p.m.
