BALTIMORE, Md. - The Lafayette fencing team continued its season on Sunday, traveling to Johns Hopkins for the MACFA A vs.C matchup.
The Lafayette men competed in matches against Johns Hopkins, Haverford, William and Mary, Navy and Maryland. The Leopards defeated Navy, 22-5, Haverford 15-12, William and Mary 24-3 and Maryland, 21-6.
The Lafayette women fenced matches against Johns Hopkins, Haverford, Navy and Maryland. The Maroon and White defeated Maryland 16-10, Haverford 15-12 and Navy 16-9.
The men were led by an outstanding performance by junior epee
Tyler Morse, who had 13 wins and went 3-0 against Maryland, William and Mary and Johns Hopkins. A trio of Leopards had 11 wins each in senior foil
Amir Whitehead, freshman sabre
Jordan Ginsberg and freshman epee
Ryan Leibowitz. Senior foil
Chris Davis and freshman sabre
Nikita Kogan both had nine victories, while sophomore sabre
Sam Gilpin and senior foil
Benito Hergert each won eight bouts. Senior epee

Hilla Wetherill, who went 11-1 and 10-2, respectively. Junior sabre
Allison Ramsay had nine victories, while senior sabre
Brooke Lippe won eight bouts. Senior foil
Anna Silver had six wins and sophomore sabre
Makenna McCall and freshman foil
Nina Qiu both won four bouts.
The Lafayette fencing team returns to action when it competes in the FDU Invitational on Sunday.
