Chevan Tops Her Own School Record in the 800

Chevan, LaSasso, Nichols and White compete in 800m and heptathlon

EASTON, Pa. – Senior Nava Chevan and junior Alexa LaSasso competed at the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia on Friday while sophomore Abbey Nichols and freshman Brea White participated in Navy's Spring Invite on Friday and Saturday.

At the Virginia Challenge, Chevan broke the Lafayette school record in the 800 meters, her own record from earlier this season, with a time of 2:07.89, 0.17 seconds faster than her previous record. Chevan took home eighth place out of 21 runners.

LaSasso managed 19th in the 800 meters with a final time of 2:12.93.

At the Navy Spring Invite, Nichols collected 11th in the heptathlon with a total of 3,512 points. White finished close behind in 12th with 3,052 points.

The Lafayette track and field team will finish up the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday evening.
