- Lafayette went 12-13 in Patriot League play this season to secure the fourth and final spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2015. This weekend, the Leopards will try to knock off top-seeded Navy in the semifinal round, a best 2-of-3 series in Annapolis, Maryland. A series win would put the Maroon and White in championship weekend for the first time since 2009.
- Lafayette went 1-4 against the Mids in regular-season play this season, with junior
Brett Kreyer throwing a seven-inning complete game, allowing two runs in a 5-2 victory on the road on April 28.Â
- Earlier this week, four Leopards were honored with All-Patriot League laurels, headlined by freshman
Justin Johnson, named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year. Johnson and junior
Trey Durrah were selected to the All-League First Team, while senior
Spencer Rouse and sophomore
Ethan Stern earned second-team status.

Richard Villa was also honored for his work on and off the diamond this week, named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. Villa carries a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average as a Biology major.
- Against the Mids this season, senior
Dan Leckie and Stern were Lafayette's most productive hitters, batting.450 and .400 in 20 and 15 plate appearances, respectively. As a team, the Leopards hit .291 against Navy this year, but the Mids hit .343 off Lafayette pitching. On the bump, sophomores
Michael Dunn and
Tyler Faccenda did not allow a run in 4.2 innings of combined work, while Kreyer was the most effective starter, going 12.0 innings with three earned runs allowed, scattering 13 hits with nine strikeouts.Â
- The winner of this weekend's series will move on to play the winner of No. 2 Holy Cross and No. 3 Army West Point in the championship series next weekend, May 18-19.Â
