BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team continued their season today at the Lehigh Easter Races. The men finished sixth overall with 24 points, while the women also finished sixth with 22 points.Â
On the men's side, the field events scored all of the points for Lafayette. In the discus,
Fischer Biggs finished fourth overall with a mark of 137' 11" to score two points in the event to open the scoring.
The best finish of the day came from
Isaiah Moore in the high jump, as his mark of 6' 2
3/4" was good enough for second place overall and another eight points on the day for the men.Â
The javelin also continued to be another strong event for the Leopards, as they finished third and fourth in the event. Leading the way was
Dylan Drescher with a mark of 165' 11" to score six points, while
James Dailey finished fourth with a mark of 136' 4" to score four points.
Mark Sabin also got in on the scoring action, as his top mark of 12' 3
1/2" was good enough for fifth place overall and another two points for Lafayette.Â
Rounding out the scoring for the men was
Devin Rosmarin, finishing fifth overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 158' 6" to score the final two points for the men.
On the women's side,
Olivia Barney continued her strong season, showing why she is a key cog of the scoring every meet. In the hammer throw, Barney finished third overall with a top mark of 167' 2" to score six points in the event. This mark now places her number five on the All Time Lafayette Top 10 list. In the discus, she finished fourth overall with a top throw of 130' 7" to add another four points to her meet total. Finally, in the shot put, Barney finished fifth with a mark of 37' 5
1/4" to score another two points, bringing her meet total to 12 points on the day.
Grace O'Mara also factored in the scoring as well, as her mark of 37' 4" in the shot put was good enough for sixth place overall and another scoring point.
Another big finish came from
Annie Hathaway, who continues to be another key scoring member of the women's team. Her mark of 10' 11
3/4" was good enough for fourth place overall and scored another four points on the day.
On the track side of the events,
Ainsley Jacobs had the highest finish for the women, crossing the finish line fourth in the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:47.37 to score another four points.
The final scoring on the afternoon came from
Cassandra Wilk, as she finished sixth overall in the 3000 meter steeple in a time of 11:52.23 to score the final point on the afternoon.
