NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - The Lafayette track and field team continued their season Friday at the Rutgers Invite.Â
Autumn Sands put forward another dominating performance, breaking the indoor 5,000 meter school record in a final time of 16:52.62. This finish also got her first place in the race, winning the race by over 30 seconds.Â
Also breaking the school record in the 5,000 meter race was on the men's side was
Austin Barry, finishing second overall in a time of 14:35.36. His finish was over 17 seconds faster than the third place finisher in the race.
Bobby Oehrlein also had a strong performance in the 5,000 meter race, finishing fourth overall in a time of 14:54.23. Finishing ninth in the race was
Thomas Anthony in a time of 15:05.17.
Ryan Murphy put forward a strong race as well, finishing 11th overall in the 1,000 meter run in a time of 2:31.67.
