Collier Breaks Lafayette School Record in 10k

Leopards secure four event wins and nine new All-Time Top 10's

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Lafayette track and field teams competed at the Rutgers Relays and the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell on Saturday. The majority of the Leopards were at Rutgers while the long distance runners competed at Bucknell.

At the Bison Outdoor Classic, sophomore Kendall Collier broke the 38-year old school record in the 10k with a final time of 35:12.08, surpassing Renee Robins' record from 1988. Collier crossed the finish line eighth overall. Freshmen Hazel Calway and Maeve McNamee sit at No. 7 all-time (11:17.75) and No. 9 all-time (11:18.84) at Lafayette in the 3000-meter steeplechase. The first years collected 18th and 20th, respectively.

Junior Bridget Shaver snagged fifth in the 5000 meters with a final time of 17:49.53. Freshman Zoe Cimo finished 10th in the 1500 meters (4:41.94).

For the men, senior Quinn Worrell claimed No. 4 all-time in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:50.02, finishing 30th. Senior Justin Brown earned No. 5 all-time in the 5000 meters (14:40.74) while classmate Cole Chukoskie achieved No. 8 all-time (14:44.23). Brown and Chukoskie placed 37th and 50th. Sophomore Alec Miner enjoyed a seventh-place finish in the 1500 meters with a final time of 3:58.05.

At the Rutgers Relays, senior Robert McClosky captured the victory in the javelin, throwing 217' 2" to secure No. 3 all-time. McClosky currently sits as the 44th best D-I mark in the country. Sophomore Javin Petry enjoyed a third-place finish in the hammer throw, ending with a 181' 1.25" throw.

Senior Benjamin Hill and junior Elliott Godin achieved third (15' 7.75") and fourth (15' 2") in the pole vault, respectively.

Junior John Liedtka snagged the win in the 110-meter high hurdles with a final time of 14.45. Senior J.P. Pfisterer is tied for No. 6 all-time in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line at 48.44 for fourth. Junior Alexander Caba sits at No. 8 all-time in the 200 meters with a time of 21.54. Caba earned seventh. Sophomore Cole Scattergood secured first-place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a final time of 9:58.16.

The team of senior Roman Conca, sophomore Kaseme Leckie, junior Harrison Rosen and Caba earned No. 6 all-time in the 4x100-meter relay with a final time of 41.16. The men worked together to take home the victory.

For the women, sophomores Alivia Bear and Eleni Smith collected fourth (11:57.14) and fifth (12:01.20) in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Sophomore Kristin DeBolt claimed fifth in the discus throw, finishing with a final throw of 129' 11".

The Maroon and White will head to day one of the Navy Spring Invite and the Virginia Challenge on Apr. 17.
