LEWISBURG, Pa - The Leopards' track and field team traveled to Bucknell University for the second weekend in a row on Saturday morning. The Maroon and White women's team placed fourth overall, while the men took home seventh. The meet was delayed due to lightning in the early afternoon before resuming action at 5 p.m.
In the throws, sophomore Erin O'Leary earned a third-place finish after reaching a mark of 155' 2" while junior Liz Desmet took home sixth (145' 11"). In the shot put, senior Grace O'Mara placed fifth with a throw of 38' 10.5". Senior Caity McTernan finished fifth in the javelin (121' 10") and classmate Solape Fakorede earned a third-place finish in the discus (135' 7").
Junior Juliette Delmotte managed a third-place finish in the triple jump, reaching a mark of 37' 3.75". In the pole vault, sophomore Julia Greeley placed third after vaulting 11' 5.75".
In the 400-meter run, sophomore Nava Chevan earned a second-place finish, clocking a time of 57.67. Freshman Maeve Waldron finished behind her in fourth with a time of 58.63. Classmate Elena Malone picked up a third-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:17.34). Freshman Kira Marr finished third in the 1,500-meter run (4:47.67) and senior Alex Avery finished in sixth (4:52.51).
For the men, senior Andrew Swiniarski picked up a first-place finish in the hammer throw (181' 11") and classmate Andrew Bowsher placed sixth (172' 5"). Senior Fischer Biggs earned a sixth-place finish in the discus (143' 1") and freshman Robert McCloskey managed a fourth-place finish in the javelin (156' 0").
In the 800-meter run, freshman Quinn Worrell placed third with a time of 1:55.15. Sophomore A.J. Sanford II earned a third-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (4:00.53) and freshman Titan Casey finished in fifth (4:04.22).
The Leopards will head to Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 27.
