Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes 10 to Class of 2028

Newest Leopards find their way to College Hill this fall

EASTON, Pa.- Head coach Katie McConnell of the Lafayette women's lacrosse program announced the addition of 10 newcomers to the Leopards' Class of 2028 on Wednesday afternoon. The newest members of the Maroon and White hail from seven different states including three from New York, two from Ohio and one from New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

"We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2028! They are a talented group that will contribute to our program both on and off the field immediately," McConnell said. "We are excited for this next chapter of Lafayette lacrosse and the new energy they will bring to our roster."

14 | Andie Pedatella | M
Pedatella is a two-sport athlete at Bellport High School, playing four years of varsity lacrosse and volleyball. The Patchogue, N.Y. native helped the lacrosse team to its first playoff appearance in program history, while achieving that feat three times in volleyball as an outside hitter. For the lacrosse team, she was a two-year captain and a three-time N.Y. State Section XI All-County, All-American Academic, All-Rookie and All-Division honoree. Pedatella currently totals 193 career points on 155 goals and 38 assists. In high school, she earned a distinction in math, english and science while ranking fourth in the class as the treasurer of Math Honor Society and the secretary of Athletes Helping Others. She was a member of the Science Honor Society, Students for Environmental Quality (SEQ) and the National Honor Society. Pedatella has club experience for the Long Island Yellow Jackets under coaches Chris Ramos and Chris Chamberlin. At Lafayette, she intends on majoring in Economics. Her mother, Lisa, played volleyball for Ithaca College while her brother, Calvin, attends Williams College.
 
45 | Anne Madden | M
Hailing from Rockville Centre, N.Y., Madden is also a two-sport athlete, playing lacrosse and soccer for South Side High School. She racked up 119 career points as a two-time Nassau County semi-finalist and finalist for lacrosse. Madden, a team captain, was selected to the 2023 All-Conference and 2024 All-County Honorable Mention rosters. In soccer, the program won two county championships, one Long Island championship and one New York State championship finalist award. Madden earned the 2020 Rookie of the Year laurel and was named a 2024 Academic All-American for both teams. She claims multiple other academic recognitions such as high honor roll, National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Math Honor Society, the 2023 Student Sage Scholar and a second-place finish in the 2020 Science Fair. She is a member of the Red Cross Club and Girl Talk Club while additionally volunteering for the Mary Ruchalski Foundation, Adopt-A-Family, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Character Band Aid Drive. Under Danielle Gallagher in Manhasset, N.Y., Madden is a seven-year member of the Liberty Lacrosse Club. She plans on majoring in Economics at Lafayette. Alongside her sister, she was honored by the N.Y. Senate as the founder of Limitless Lacrosse (501c3).
 
29 | Delaney Lutz | D
Lutz is a native of Sayvile, N.Y. and played lacrosse, soccer and winter track for the Golden Flash. In lacrosse, she helped the team to a state championship with a 21-0 record as a two-time All-Division award winner. The soccer team made playoffs twice and Lutz was a back-to-back county champion in three years of track. The Economics major was named to the honor roll as well as being a scholar-athlete for all four years in addition to winning the Cameron Riccomini scholarship. Her extracurriculars include Every Child's Dream, Key Club and Leadership Club. Under coach Chris Ramos, Lutz has club experience for the Long Island Yellow Jackets. She has one brother, Dylan. Her mother, Danielle, swam at St. Michaels while her father, Clayton, played baseball at Stony Brook.
 
17 | Emma Greer | A
At Moorestown High School, Greer graduated with four years of honor roll as a member of the Honor and Service Society. Greer has an interest in community service, volunteering in local charity organizations, becoming a member of the Litter Bug Club and coaches youth soccer and lacrosse programs. The Moorestown, N.J. native played four years of varsity lacrosse, earning many athletic laurels: 2024 Olympic Conference American Division First Team Attack, 2024 WLCSJ All South Jersey First Team, 2024 NJ All-Group 3 Girls Second Team, Awarded the Robert Greer Sportsmanship Award, 2023 Olympic Conference American Division Second Team, 2023 WLCSJ All South Jersey Second Team, 2023 NJ All-Group 3 Girls Second Team and 2023 All-Philly Lacrosse South Jersey Girls' Team - Attack. She played club lacrosse for South Jersey Select under coach K.C. Knobloch. Greer has two siblings, Hayden and Evan. Her father played football at Lehigh while her mother was a field hockey and lacrosse athlete at Franklin & Marshall. Evan currently swims at Duke.
 
33 | Evelyn Guyer | M
Hailing from Durham, N.C., Guyer plans on majoring in Economics at Lafayette. She attended Durham Academy, where she was a four-sport athlete. Guyer completed six years of golf, five of lacrosse and one of both swimming and basketball. The lacrosse program won conference championships from 2019 to 2023 while golf took two state championships in her final terms. The midfielder collected awards including a two-time conference Player of the Year title, 2023 All-Academic laurel and four-time All-State and All-Conference honors. She set the record for most career points (474) as a senior captain and Durham Academy Athlete of the Year. Guyer tallied high honors in scholarship throughout her schooling. In her free time, she was a coach for Endless Sports, a lacrosse program for kids with disabilities, and Swing Pals, a golf program for kids with a lower socioeconomic status. Under coaches Kristy Newitt and Mark Phillips, she played club for Team 911 Carolina for six years. Her father, David, was a basketball and track and field athlete for Queens University and her mother swam at McMaster.
 
42 | Isabelle Pohmer | M
Pohmer is a two-sport athlete competing in lacrosse and cross country at Olentangy Liberty High School. As the farthest to travel to College Hill, she comes from Powell, Ohio. In her senior season, she earned titles such as USA Lacrosse All-American, State of Ohio Division 1 Midfielder of the Year, All-Metro Player of the Year, First Team All-State and All-Region, Regional Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year and Columbus Dispatch Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year. At Olentangy Liberty, she set the program record for the most goals, points and draw controls in a career, season and game. Academically, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with multiple honor roll laurels while a member of the National Honor Society. She has three siblings, Madeline, Eloise and Katherine. Her father, Kevin, played basketball at Binghamton and her sister, Madeline, is committed to play lacrosse at Cornell. Pohmer referees and helps organize youth lacrosse camps in her town. She has club experience under coach Shannon Smith for the Long Island Top Guns Black in Long Island, N.Y.
 
43 | Maeve Cox | D
Cox competed in lacrosse, indoor track and soccer for the Agnes Irwin School. The Owls' lacrosse program was the PAISAA champions in 2023 and the runner-up in 2024. Cox took home the Varsity Lacrosse Coaches award, Class of 1916 laurel and Tour Guide Spirit honor in her senior season. She graduated with Latin honors and earned honor roll during all semesters. For her class, she was the junior and senior president as well as a co-head of the Business and Entrepreneurship Club, team leader of the American Cancer Society - Students Conquering Cancer, and a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of the Year campaign. The Villanova, Pa. native played lacrosse for Josie Ferri Tomaino and Julie Young of the Philly Blast Lacrosse club. She has two siblings, Brendan and James. Her uncle, Owen Knott, played lacrosse for Notre Dame.
 
27 | Morgan Halpern | A
Halpern, who also played field hockey, competed at the varsity level for four years in lacrosse at Columbus Academy. The New Albany, Ohio native assisted the lacrosse program to a 14-5 record in 2024 as the Central Buckeye League champions. She was a two-time team captain, collecting multiple First Team Mid-State and Central Independent League honors. During her senior campaign, she was titled the conference Player of the Year. Halpern was also a five-time All-Mid-State League Academic selection and a 2024 USA Lacrosse Academic All-American. She has given over 45 hours of community service to those in need as a volunteer at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and served as a member of her high school's service board. Under coach Jillian Byers Matusz, she played club for Impact Lacrosse. She has two siblings, Jordan and Ethan. Her cousin, Ryan Taffe, plays basketball for Sienna.
 
5 | Sadie Martiesian | M
Martiesian, a Cranston, R.I. native, plans on majoring in Biology while on College Hill. While at the Wheeler School, she earned varsity status in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Garnering both a 2023 and 2024 selection to the USA Lacrosse All-American and All-Academic teams, she was selected as the Eastern Independent League/NEPSAC Player of the Year, an All-NEPSAC Class C honoree, and an All-state Independent Schools – Rhode Island athlete in her senior campaign. Martiesian finished her high school career with 364 goals, good for the Wheeler Coach's Award and the Scholar-Athlete laurel. At her high school, she was a class co-president, peer mentor and editor/member of the yearbook's Gyre staff. Martiesian played club for Revolution Lacrosse in Boston, Mass., competing in the 2021 Under Armor 150. She was named an Under Armor All-American in 2021 and 2022 alongside a New Balance All-American in 2023. The incoming Leopard also participated in the USA Lacrosse U18 Combine in her junior year. In her free time, she volunteers at the St. Raymond Church and St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Martiesian also helped coach youth lacrosse in Armenia during the summer of 2024.
 
20 | Sophie Clark | GK
The lone incoming goalkeeper hails from Monroe, Conn. and attended Masuk High School. She helped the field hockey program to a 2024 state championship with 402 career saves. In lacrosse, she was a team captain, an All-State and All-Division honoree, and the all-time saves record holder. Academically, Clark collected the 2024 Class L Academic All-State and 2020-23 SWC All-Academic Team laurels. She participated in the Nor'easter Lacrosse club, coached by Clarissa Clarke. She has two siblings, Kenny and William. Her grandfather, William, played polo at Cornell and her mother, Megan, was a two-sport athlete for St. Lawrence, competing for the lacrosse and ice hockey programs. Clark is a four-year FFA member, the SiRorsky STEM Challenge president, a National Honor Society member and a National Science Honor Society selection.

The Maroon and White begin off-season training this month, awaiting the 2025 contest schedule.
