EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team continued their season this weekend at the Lafayette Field Fest.
On the men's side, the Leopards had a huge performance, winning each of the events against Colgate.Â
Starting off in the high jump securing the first win of the day was
Isaiah Moore, finishing first with a mark of 6' 2
3/4". This mark was over a foot higher than the second place finisher in the event.Â
Moving into the pole vault,
Mark Sabin continued on his strong showing this season, winning the event with a top vault of 13' 51/4".
The shot put was another event that brought some strong performances on the day. Leading the way was
Fischer Biggs in first with a mark of 43' 7
3/4". Behind Biggs was
Andrew Swiniarski with a top throw of 40' 5
1/2".
The discus was also dominated by Lafayette on the day, as they finished first through third in the event. Leading the way was
Andrew Bowsher with a top throw of 128' 5". Behind him was Biggs (122' 10") and Swiniarksi (114' 3").
Another first through third place came about again, this time in the hammer throw. Leading the way here was
Devin Rosmarin with a throw of 152' 6". Behind Rosmarin was Swiniarksi (145' 1") and Biggs (126' 10").
Closing out the day was the javelin, as the Leopards took home first and third place in the event. Leading the way was
Dylan Drescher with a mark of 150' 4", in third was
James Dailey with a throw of 136' 4".
On the women's side, the Leopards won five events on the day.
The first win of the day came from
Katie Ullmann in the high jump, as her mark of 5' 3" was good enough for first place. She also came back later to finish second in the long jump with a mark of 17' 0
3/4".
The second win on the day came from
Annie Hathaway in the pole vault, with a top mark of 10' 11
3/4". Finishing second behind Hathaway was
Julia Knowles with a height of 10' 0".
The next three events were dominated by
Olivia Barney, as she swept the competition in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Starting off in shot put was a mark of 41' 3" to win the event. The in the discus, she came back with another first place finish with a mark of 138' 7". Closing out the three win day for Barney was her mark of 168' 11" in the hammer throw. In terms of the best Patriot League marks this season, Barney is now seventh in the discus, eighth in the hammer, and 11th in the shot put.
Grace O'Mara also had a strong showing for Lafayette on the day, as she finished second in the shot put with a mark of 38' 03/4". Another second place finish from O'Mara was in the javelin throw with a mark of 100' 2". She later finished her day with a pair of third place finishes in the discus (126' 8") and hammer throw (142' 8").
Closing out the Saturday action was
Solape Fakorede in the hammer throw, finishing second with a mark of 146' 6".
