ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lafayette track and field teams competed at the Patriot League Championships on Friday and Saturday with the men finishing sixth overall (22.50 points) and the women ending eighth (12 points).
On day one,
Autumn Sands opened the scoring by finishing seventh in the 10,000 meter run (35:24.73).Â
Julia Greeley also got in on the scoring, finishing eighth overall in the pole vault with a mark of 11' 1
1/4".
The 4x800 meter relay team placed sixth in 9:29.55. The foursome of
Lily Dineen,
Alex Avery,
Nina Koobatian and
Alexandra Borik added three points to the meet total.
On the men's side,
Billy Prebola finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 207' 2" to net five points.
The men's 4x800 meter relay team of
Ryan Moore,
A.J. Sanford II,
C.J. Romine and
Jesse Schmeizer also finished seventh in a time of 7:42.56.
Day 2:
Austin Barry opened the scoring on day two, earning a sixth-place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:21.22).Â
Harrison Greenhill had a big day for Lafayette, as he finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 53' 11
1/4" to score five points in the event. He came back later to also finish fourth in the discus (153' 0") to add another five points to his meet total. Also scoring in the discus was
Fischer Biggs, who placed eighth (135' 4").
In the field events,
Isaiah Moore finishing seventh in the high jump (6' 3 1/2") to add 1.50 points to the meet total.
The 4x100 meter relay team ofÂ
Jordan Anderson,
Ryan Moore,
Jack Lynett and
Oscar Jopp clocked a time of 44.73 to place seventh while the 4x400 relay team
Ryan Moore, Sanford,
Ryan Murphy and
Willie Marina took eighth (3:35.15).
On the women's side, Sands finished ninth in the 5,000 meter run in a time of 16:52.31, setting a new school record in the event. In the 3,000 steeplechase,Â
Cassandra Wilk finished fifth in a time of 10:54.14.
The 4x100 meter relay team (
Eliana Liebman,
Jill Warabak,
Angel Awono,
Portia McKoy) took eighth in 50.45 seconds while the 4x400 meter relay team (McKoy, Liebman, Warabak, and
Nava Chevan) finished eighth in 4:07.70.
