BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team concluded a two-day meet at Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon at Goodman Track and Field Complex.
During the field events on Friday, sophomore Erin O'Leary finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 160' 6" and junior Liz Desmet finished behind her in fifth place (147' 9").
For the men on Friday, senior Andrew Swiniarski managed a second-place finish in the hammer throw (183' 6") and classmate Andrew Bowsher placed fifth (170' 0").
On Saturday, sophomore Angel Awono finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 15.40. In the 400-meter run, freshman Elena Malone took home fourth place with a time of 57.70.
In the throwing events, senior Solape Fakorede secured second place in the discus (153' 5") and fifth place in the shot put (37' 0").
Sophomore Julia Greeley placed fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 11' 0".
For the men on Saturday, freshman Roman Conca took home second place in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 22.44. Freshman Zach Barban earned a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (59.91). In the 800-meter run, sophomore A.J. Sanford II placed second (1:56.46) and freshman Quinn Worrell finished right behind him in third (1:57.25).
Senior Fischer Biggs managed a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 149' 0".
In the pole vault, sophomore Jack Lynett finished in second place (13' 9").
The Maroon and White will return to the track on April 15 for the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell.
