PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Track and field spent Friday and Saturday at the Widener Invitational. Day one was hosted by Widener while day two took place at Penn.
Senior Alexa LaSasso took home the victory in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line at 2:15.81. Freshman Katelynn Barthold secured No. 9 all-time at Lafayette in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.32. The rookie enjoyed a third-place finish. Classmate Zoe Cimo claimed No. 8 all-time in the mile, finishing in 5:04.60 for sixth. Freshman Faye Carnemolla achieved fourth in the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 2:16.78.
Junior Ava Severino collected fifth in the 3000 meters with a final time of 10:23.08, while Kira Marr finished 10th (10:28.49). Sophomore Anya Kazemi ran a 5:09.39 mile for ninth place.Â
In the throws, freshman Kennedy Miller secured eighth in the shot put, putting 39' 10".
Junior Bridget O'Mara vaulted 10' 11.75" in the pole vault for a 10th-place finish.
For the men, senior Quinn Worrell snagged second in the mile with a final time of 4:12.27. Freshman Titan Casey earned seventh in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line at 1:55.76. Junior John Liedtka and sophomore Kaseme Leckie reeled in fourth and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.42) and 60 meters (6.91), respectively.
Junior Ivan Tejada captured second in the shot put (52' 5.5") and eighth in the weight throw (52' 3.25").
Senior Benjamin Hill claimed fifth in the pole vault, vaulting 15' 1".
The Maroon and White will next compete at the Bucknell Tune Up on Feb. 20, starting at 5 p.m.
