Larson Surpasses School Record in the Pole Vault

Leopards add eight new performances to All-Time Top 10

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lafayette track and field spent Friday and Saturday at Navy's Spring Invite, bringing home a school record, two event wins and eight all-time performances.

Sophomore Jack Larson broke the Lafayette school record in the pole vault, finishing with a 16' 9.5" final vault and second place. Senior Benjamin Hill claimed fifth in the pole vault, vaulting 15' 11.75", securing No. 3 all-time at Lafayette.

Senior Bobby McClosky, the reigning Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week, threw 203' in the javelin for the victory. Sophomore Javin Petry snagged second in the hammer throw (178' 8") while junior Niko Williams earned fourth in both the discus throw (147' 2") and javelin (178' 6").

Senior Liam Sawian competed in the decathlon, placing fifth with 5,684 points.

On the track, senior Quinn Worrell captured the win in the 1500 meters with a final time of 3:50.97. Junior John Liedtka achieved No. 2 all-time in the 110-meter hurdles with a final time of 14.43, tying his personal best and earning second. Sophomore Kaseme Leckie sits at No. 7 all-time in the 200 meters after his 21.46 finish for sixth.

The team of senior Roman Conca, juniors Alexander Caba and Harrison Rosen and Leckie are tied for No. 5 all-time in the men's 4x100-meter relay with a season best 41.08. Their performance in the relay garnered them second place overall. 

For the women, sophomore Iyun Franklin-Ayeni reached No. 9 all-time in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.73. Franklin-Ayeni took home sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.11).

In the field, freshmen Ava Reese and Kennedy Miller claimed No. 4 all-time (43' 9.75) and No. 7 all-time (42' 4.75") in the shot put with fourth- and sixth-place finishes, respectively. Senior Zoe Krumwiede threw 148' 9" in the hammer throw for fifth.

Freshman Brooklyn Genduso reeled in No. 3 all-time in the pole vault with a 12' 1.75" vault, collecting seventh. Classmate Mia Callahan enjoyed a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a 4' 11" jump.

Next up for the Maroon and White are Penn Relays on Apr. 23-25 and the Covert Classic on Apr. 24-25 at Lehigh.
