Time Log of Last Journal Entry Meeting Between Michael Joseph Farrell and Himself

Minutes Logged From Last Meeting: 26 minutes 37 sec.
Captain's Log: Stardate 12.11.2003

I. First order of business is to congratulate Justin DeBerry on scoring his 1,000th point has a Lafayette Leopard. This is an amazing feat, especially considering how quickly into his senior year he got the job done. The bucket came against La Salle in our second home game of the year on Bob Falconiero Day. Those two points set the tone for the game, as Justin scored on a lay up right off the tip and got us rolling to a 7-0 lead early in the game. But, you, my Leopard faithful already know all of this information. But in case you haven't already, next time you see Justin, make sure to give him the big thumbs up or some other congratulatory sign or word.

II. Second order of business is to draw attention to our great start of the season. The Leopards are now 5-1 and are playing pretty good basketball. There have been lots of close games, and it is great to see that we have been able to either (1) sustain a lead and (2) come from behind to get a win. I know that the team really appreciates everybody's support - I know we draw a lot of our emotion from the crowds. And how's about a big round of applause for the ZOO CREW, they have been phenomenal this year. I love looking up into the stands and seeing a sea of yellow stacked on one side of the bleachers. And who doesn't love the "Tube Sock" chant that they get going? Is it time, again for the ZOO CREW to be featured in the pages of ESPN the magazine, as they were the season before I came to Lafayette? They were listed as one of the best student support sections in all of college basketball. Holler.

III. Third, final exams. The barnacle at the end of every student's semester. Seems like the boys are all handling their business quite well. I still have one left to go, by the time that all of you out there in Leopard Land read this I will have probably finished it. Then there is the matter of finishing up a little paper that I have been working on all semester. To any students who may be out there reading this - I hope that your exams went well and that you enjoy you moth and a half off from school (a month and a half, seems a little excessive if you ask me) and/or good luck in any abroad programs that you may be partaking in. Plus you guys are always welcome in the APK on game day, even if school is not in session - the men's hoop team always is.

IV. Final Remarks. Hope that all is well with everyone. Looking forward to the next few games, they should all be interesting, and then I am looking forward to getting home for a couple days. It was great to see my mom up here this past weekend - she brought us a couple of inches of snow, but she also brought us a couple of wins. Thanks for the love, support, and food mom. Gotta get back to studying.

Peace
Mike Farrell
