BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lafayette throwing squad participated in the weight throw and shot put events at Fast Times Before Finals meet at Lehigh on Friday and Saturday.
For the men, sophomore Ivan Tejada secured No. 10 all-time at Lafayette in the indoor shot put with a throw of 49' 8.25" to earn third in the competition. Tejada captured third in the weight throw as well, throwing for 49' 7". Both performances were personal bests for the Lititz, Pa. native.
Freshman Javin Petry finished eighth in the weight throw (45' 3.75") followed by sophomore Jared Googel in ninth (45' 3"). Junior Liam Downey collected seventh in shot put and 12th in the weight throw with throws of 44' 8" and 41' 11.5", respectively.
Sophomore Niko Williams reeled in eighth in shot put, throwing 44' 8". Classmate Jack Paradis managed 13th and 15th in the shot put and weight throw (40' 1.25", 41' 6.5"), while freshman Adrian Pirog placed 19th in shot put (36' 1.5").
For the women, senior Erin O'Leary snagged second in the weight throw with a throw of 48' 10.75". Sophomore Cheyla Williams earned seventh in both the weight throw (44' 2") and shot put (35' 2").
Freshman Anna Cacciacarne finished 13th in the weight throw (41' 4.25") and 22nd in shot put (29' 4"). Classmate Kristin DeBolt collected 14th in shot put (32' 7.5") and 19th in the weight throw (38' 2.25").
The Maroon and White return to action after the new year, competing at the Spartan Invite on Jan. 10 at 12 p.m. in Staten Island N.Y.
