BOSTON, Mass. – Track and field competed in day one of the Patriot League Championships at Boston University on Saturday, the men sitting tied for eighth and the women ninth.
The Leopards broke one Lafayette school record and added 11 new performances into the All-Time Top 10.
Junior Alexander Caba eclipsed the school record in the 200 meters with a final time of 21.48, placing ninth. Sophomore Kaseme Leckie is tied for No. 7 all-time in the 200 meters with a time of 22.11. Leckie finished 17th in the 200 while also earning ninth in the 60 meters (6.92). Junior Harrison Rosen claimed No. 9 all-time in the 200 (22.12), ending in 18th. Rosen also managed 14th in the 60 meters (7.00).
Senior J.P. Pfisterer secured No. 3 all-time in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line at 48.72 for 12th. Classmate Roman Conca ran 49.20 in the 400 meters for No. 4 all-time and 14th. Freshman Tegan Kovacs sits at No. 8 all-time in the 800 meters after a 1:53.57 finish, snagging ninth. Senior Quinn Worrell reeled in 14th in the mile (4:10.06).
Junior John Liedtka and freshman Justice Larkin took home ninth (8.36) and 11th (8.58) in the 60-meter hurdles, respectively.
The team of senior Titan Casey, freshman Hunter Parsons, sophomore Alec Miner and Worrell enjoyed a fourth-place finish in the men's 4x800-meter relay )7:33.76), collecting No. 2 all-time. The men's performance secured points for the Leopards.
In the field events, junior Ivan Tejada claimed 15th in the weight throw, throwing 51' 1.5".
For the women, freshman Maeve McNamee achieved No. 8 all-time in the mile with a final time of 5:04.32 to finish 17th. Senior Alexa LaSasso sits at No. 2 all-time in the 800 meters with her time of 2:08.99. LaSasso placed 10th. Sophomore Jamie Gorman managed 20th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.31.
Freshman Kendall Collier and senior Elizabeth Borah earned No. 6 and No. 7 all-time in the 5000 meters with times of 17:19.81 and 17:25.63, respectively. Collier placed 14th while Borah ended in 16th. Sophomore Iyun Franklin-Ayeni crossed the finish line 14th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.23.
The team of freshman Faye Carnemolla, senior Elena Malone, freshman Katelynn Barthold and LaSasso secured No. 6 all-time in the 4x800-meter relay (9:11.49), scoring with their eighth-place finish.
In the field, freshmen Kennedy Miller and Ava Reese collected 11th (49' 1.5") and 16th (46' 5.5") in the weight throw.
Freshman Madeline Dudley earned No. 8 all-time in the heptathlon high jump, leaping 5' 4.25" for third.
The Maroon and White will wrap up the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at 11 a.m.
