EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team continued the outdoor season on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Leopard Invitational at Metzgar Fields Athletic Campus.Â
In the 100-meter dash, freshman Lauren Thomas managed a third-place finish with a time of 13.63. Classmate Maeve Waldron picked up a victory in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 26.79. Junior Lily Dineen placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.39. In the 800-meter run, freshman Elena Malone earned a first-place finish (2:20.77) and senior Alex Avery finished in second place (2:24.01). Junior Emma Lorey picked up a second-place finish in the 1,500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:56.90.Â
Sophomore Erin O'Leary earned a victory in the hammer throw (160' 4") with junior Julie Soldat finishing in third place (142' 1"). Senior Caity McTernan managed a first-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 99' 2". In the shot put, senior Grace O'Mara placed first (36' 4.5") and classmate Solape Fakorede finished behind her in second place (35' 8.75"). Fakorede also earned a second-place finish in the discus (122' 5') with O'Mara finishing in third place (109' 0").
In the pole vault, freshman Isabella Allen took home second place with a vault of 10' .5". Junior Melina Panagakos placed first in the high jump after a jump of 4' 8.45". In the long jump, senior Claire Fedor managed a second-place finish (16' 10.25") and junior Juliette Delmotte finished behind her in third place (16' 3").Â
For the men, freshman Roman Conca earned a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.27. Conca also managed a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.02) with classmate John Paul Pfisterer finishing in third place (24.76). Pfisterer also placed second in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 52.28.
Freshman Zach Barban picked up a first-place victory in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.36. Freshman Quinn Worrell managed a second-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 1:56.89. In the 1,500-meter run, classmate Titan Casey finished in second place (4:09.95) with junior Sean Hamilton coming in behind him in third place (4:10.29).Â
In the hammer throw, senior Andrew Boswher earned a first–place victory (170' 6") and classmate Andrew Swiniarski finished in second place (164' 2"). Freshman Robert McCloskey finished in first place in the javelin (154' 0") with classmate Arhen Stauffer finishing behind him in second place (151' 10"). In the shot put, freshman Liam Downey earned a first-place victory (43' 3.25") with senior Fischer Biggs finishing behind him in second place (42' 3.5"). Biggs also managed a first-place finish in the discus (136' 0") and Bowsher earned a second-place finish (131' 10"). In the long jump, sophomore Quinn Curtain earned a first-place finish (19' 10.5") with senior Aidan Tai finishing in second place (18' 5.25"). Curtin also picked up a first-place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 42' 1.5".Â
The Maroon and White will continue the outdoor season with a dual-meet against Lehigh on April 1Â at Metzgar Fields Athletic Campus.
