ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lafayette track and field enjoyed a strong day one at the Patriot League Championships at Navy's Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse on Saturday. The Leopards collected six Lafayette all-time performances and had six individuals qualify for finals in day two on Sunday.
Qualifying for finals for the men, junior Quinn Worrell broke the school record in the 800 meters with a final time of 1:51.99, placing eighth. Sophomore John Liedtka captured No. 2 all-time at Lafayette in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.23, earning fifth. Freshman Kaseme Leckie finished sixth in the 60-meter dash (6.91).
For the women, sophomore Ida Moczerniuk snagged second in the 60-meter dash (7.54) and fifth in the 200 meters (24.78), tying her personal best and keeping her at No. 2 all-time. Senior Nava Chevan and junior Alexa LaSasso finished first (2:09.78) and third (2:11.07) in the 800 meters.
Freshman Jack Larson reeled in fourth in the men's pole vault with a 15' 9" effort, securing him No. 2 all-time and adding points for the Leopards.
Scoring for the Leopards, the relay team of junior J.P. Pfisterer, freshman Alec Miner, junior Titan Casey and Worrell garnered sixth in the men's 4x800-meter relay with a final time of 7:47.24.
The women's 4x400 relay scored for Lafayette as freshman Jamie Gorman, senior Chelsey Cochrane and juniors Katherine Pappas and Elena Malone secured seventh with a time of 9:23.23.
Sophomore Abbey Nichols finished with 3,053 points in the pentathlon, placing 10th and achieving No. 9 all-time.
Sophomore Gabby Buber ran 25.30 in the 200 meters for a personal best and 16th place, keeping herself at No. 5 all-time.
The Maroon and White wrap up the Patriot League Championships on Sunday at 11 a.m.
