EASTON, Pa. – The Leopards held the first home meet of the season at Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex on Saturday, hosting nine other teams.
In the field for the women, senior Erin O'Leary garnered first in hammer throw with a 179' 5" effort. O'Leary enjoyed a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with a 127' 8" finish. Freshman Kristin DeBolt secured first in the discus throw, throwing 142' 2", earning No. 5 all-time at Lafayette, and fifth in shot put (38' 0.75"). Junior Zoe Krumwiede threw 145' 6" in hammer throw, achieving fourth place.Â
Sophomore Marin Rosser captured second in the javelin (129' 4") followed by classmate Maddie Still in third (121' 8"). Senior Rylee Bordwick finished fifth in javelin (116' 9").
Sophomore Bridget O'Mara took home second in the pole vault with a 11' 5.75" vault. Freshman Leah Rudolph earned second in long jump, leaping 17' 7.5". Classmates Hayden Mark and Anaya Brown snagged third (16' 11.5") and fourth (16' 7.75") in long jump, respectively.Â
Sophomore Abbey Nichols collected fifth in high jump with a 4' 9.5" effort and senior Angel Awono placed fifth in triple jump (34' 9.75").
For the men, junior Benjamin Hill reeled in the victory in the pole vault, vaulting 15' 9" and tying for No. 4 all-time. Classmate Liam Sawian secured second in the long jump, leaping 22' 2.25". Sophomores Andrew Harrison and Elliott Godin placed fourth in the triple jump (44' 6.75") and pole vault (13' 7.25"), respectively.
Sophomore Niko Williams snagged the victory in javelin with a 185' 1" effort. Williams also collected fourth in the discus throw, throwing 157' 9". Classmate Jared Googel garnered second in hammer throw (170' 2") and junior Robert McClosky enjoyed a third-place finish in javelin (178').
Freshman Javin Petry threw 160' even for fourth in hammer throw followed by sophomore Ivan Tejada in fifth (141' 2"). Tejada also earned fourth in shot put, putting 48' 8.75".
Running for the women, sophomore Ida Moczerniuk enjoyed the victory in the 100 meters with a final time of 11.73. Junior Maeve Waldron reeled in first in the 200 meters (25.35) and second in the 100 meters (12.23). Awono ran 14.77 in the 100-meter hurdles for second place with freshman Iyun Franklin-Ayeni close behind in fourth (15.72)
Junior Alexa LaSasso collected third in the 400 meters (59.13) while freshman Lily Jenkins secured fifth in the 100 and 200 meters (12.58, 25.96), respectively. Senior Casey MacElhiney finished fourth in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:59.55 and junior Lizzie Hurshman came in fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (13:00.65).
The team of Jenkins, Moczerniuk, sophomore Gabby Buber and Waldron left victorious in the 4x100-meter relay with a final time of 47.58, securing No. 4 all-time.
Sophomore Alexander Caba captured the victory in the 200 meters with a time of 21.21. Caba enjoyed a second-place finish in the 100 meters, finishing in 10.49. Junior Titan Casey snagged the win in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.34 and classmate Quinn Worrell collected first in the 1500 meters (4:00.54).Â
Junior J.P. Pfisterer earned fourth in the 800 meters (1:58.75) while freshman Kaseme Leckie and sophomore John Liedtka took home fourth in the 100 meters (10.59) and 110-meter hurdles (14.86).
The team of junior Zachary Barban, sophomore Dexter DeMarco, sophomore Ilios Millett and senior Ryan Moore achieved first in the 4x400-meter relay with a final time of 3:25.06. Right behind in second, freshman Alec Miner, junior Cole Chukoskie, Casey and Worrell finished the 4x400 in 3:26.10.
Caba, Leckie, Moore and sophomore Christian Wright captured third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 42.39.
The Maroon and White will host Lehigh for the second rivalry meet of the season on April 5 at 11 a.m.
