George Watts '56 was an ABCA All-America Third-Team selection in 1955, adding NCAA District II First-Team laurels in his senior season of 1956. In that season, the team was 21-4-1, beating Lehigh 12-2 and 19-6 while winning its final 13 games.

He was a member of the 1954 team which advanced to the College World Series and a 1955 team that made an NCAA Regional. During his time on College Hill, the Leopards were 54-18-2.

After graduation, Watts signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization and he was a career .305 hitter in the minor leagues.
