At Lafayette, Rutt was named the Maroon-Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Class of 1913 Award winner. Those two prestigious campus awards come in addition to six awards from the track and field program, capped by the 1996-97 Henry J. After his collegiate career concluded, Rutt competed in marathons (including ultra marathons) and triathlons. He is currently president of Landcore Engineering Consultants and is married to Megan Cooper Rutt '98.
