Linda SansoneĀ '88 was a United States Women's Lacrosse Association's All-America First-Team selection in 1988, an honor given to only 18 student-athletes in the nation. That season, the team was 17-2, advancing to the NCAA Final Four after winning the East Coast Conference title. The Leopards lost their season opener to eventual NCAA champion Temple before reeling off 17 straight victories. Lafayette topped Lehigh 14-0 in regular-season play and then used 19-3 and 10-6 victories over Towson State and Delaware in East Coast Conference Tournament play to win the conference title. Lafayette lost to Penn State, 8-6 in the NCAA Semifinal.
Sansone earned three All-East Coast Conference First-Team selections (1986-88), helping the Leopards advance to the finals in 1986, 1987 and 1988. Her team finished with a 50-21 record from 1985-88 and was 30-6 in Sansone's final two seasons.
